This is a prospective study which was conducted for a period of one year from first of January to 31 December, 2003 in three neuropsychiatric out-patients clinics in the city of Sana’a. During the period of study a total of 479 epileptic patients were identified. They were subjected to detailed history taking, general, neurological and psychiatric examination, in Addition to investigations of routine blood picture, digital EEG, Brain electrical activity mapping (BEAM) and brain CT scan. The socio-demographic data and the diagnostic features of this group were described and compared with studies in some other countries.
